Buckle Up

I have been thrown for a loop this week.

Having time off with the boys has been amazing, but my first day back we hit the ground running.  I work hard at my job.  Everyone I work with does.  I logged 35 work hours over break.  The paperwork that has to be filled in along with the assessments that have to be completed is astounding.  One of the first meetings of our day started with the results of how we, as teachers in my school, do our jobs.  The data was collected in a 5 minute window by 4 people walking in our classrooms and observing the environment and turning pages in student notebooks at warp speed.  Let's just say the overall feedback wasn't all positive. The 2nd half of the day concluded with looking at more assessments.  If theses assessments were completed (see how I worked 35 hours above), we had to sit and wait until being dismissed.  I sat for 2 hours thinking about all of the other things I needed to do. Not very motivating to start off the 2nd half of our year.

I was also offered a great opportunity that would provide me with more training in a different area of my life that I have started to focus on the past 2 years.  The opportunity is amazing for me, not so great  for my family.  I have to do what is right for them, I really want to be selfish on this one though.  I made my pro/con list and the list has too many cons that will affect the boys, so I will hold off for now.  It's a hard one, but life goes on and the boys grow up fast, so other opportunities will come up in the future.

I am exhausted, so I haven't exactly made the healthiest choices the past 2 days.  Today is a new day, so I am starting it on a positive note. Headed out for a run...
