The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight, but has no vision.
– Helen Keller
Right now on my refrigerator hangs a Vision Board. Vision Boards have become very popular thanks to The Secret. Book or DVD- your choice. I cannot recomend either- haven't read or watched. Finding Your Own North Star by Martha Beck I have read and has had a positive impact on my thinking.
In 2005, 5 months after I had James, I made my fist vision board. I sat on my living room floor with piles of magazines and photos. Many types and varieties, and started clipping. It wasn't an early Christmas List- it was what I wanted to have, to live, to become, to vacation. I snipped out several pages from Oprah, Living Well, National Geographic, Parenting, etc. I've made 4 so far. They are covered with words, pictures, drawings.
I made a new Vision Board 1 month ago. I sat, in a quite room with soft music playing and I asked myself what I wanted. One of the answers that came to me was to write. When it first came to me, I didn't expect to start writing on my blog again, but here I am and there you are, reading my writing. By looking at my Vision Board, my life has started to match my wants. It helps me focus my thinking on what it is that I want.

Try it. Go beyond thinking it. Thinking is not enough. Make pictures, a list, say it out loud- any specific action. Make it on paper, cork or white board, heck make a digital screen saver or use Wordle. Your feelings are the magnet that attract things to you. If you have positive feelings, positive things in the universe are attracted to you. What do you have, what are you grateful for, what do you want? Focus on that.
